Today Mehrin and I drove down to Braeside Park to have a picnic. (I used to go there a lot when I was a kid.) It was extremely hot! (The forecast was 37ºC.)
There were a lot of crested pigeons where we had our lunch.

This was the Art Shed. I used to go and do art classes there, but it looks like it isn’t being used anymore.

This a is bee someone had made out of a sheoak cone (?!). It was in the visitors’ centre.

We went for a short walk around the park. There were a lot of noisy miners. We also saw some eastern rosellas, moorhens, and a white-faced heron. (Braeside Park is a good place for bird-watching.)

Later in the afternoon we went down to the beach at Edithvale, with some of the UNOH mob (Adam is down from Sydney at the moment), and some Burmese families who they are friends with. The beach was really crowded because it was so hot, and there was a fight while we were there. We stayed until about 8pm. (And it was still really bright and hot at 8pm.)
We took these while we were walking back to where we were parked:
