A flutter at the races
Tuesday is Melbourne Cup Day. The Melbourne Cup is known as ‘the race that stops a nation’. Even though it’s a public holiday in Melbourne Credo is still going to be open. We basically don’t want the TAB to be the only place in town for people to go and hang out.

Mehrin and I took some time off this week to go and stay at Jeff’s grandparents’ holiday house in Lorne and have a bit of a break.

Upfield
Today I went to the train station and caught the first train that was going. Unfortunately it was 25 minutes late leaving. Anyway, I ended up in Upfield. There were planes going over every couple of minutes. There were also a lot of birds. I got some chocolate cake from a Turkish bakery.
I edited this [...]

The squid and the cross
I’ve been looking at a little book called Empowerment of Indigenous People by Bakthan Tychicus. It has this image on the cover:
… the squid embracing the cross was painted by Bruce Wangurra, Aboriginal artist from Jabiru Land Council, N.T.
From the Aboriginal perspective the squid is the giver of life. Within the dreaming it contains the meaning [...]
