Thought I should post some updated pictures of our rooftop garden. Took these Thursday night while we were having dinner up there (which included home-grown zucchini), and was thinking about the parable from Ezekiel 17 about the vine trying to grow in Babylon.

When I was in Bendigo on Thursday I found manna on the leaves of some of the ecucalypts in Golden Square.
Manna is this white stuff that somehow forms on the leaves of some eucalypts (I think it has something to do with a kind of insect), which you can eat. It tastes sweet.

‘Eat this City’ is an interesting doco about urban foragers in Chicago. (Found it via BoingBoing.)
Anyone know where you can find food growing in the city around Melbourne? (I know where there are a few cumquat trees.)
