I was organising staff prayers this afternoon. I’d been reading The Artist’s Way that morning. In the part I was reading, Julia Cameron was talking about how we’re born creative (created in the image of the Creator, as co-creators), but often as we’re growing up we’re taught not to be. Cameron encourages her readers to [...]

Tuesday is Melbourne Cup Day. The Melbourne Cup is known as ‘the race that stops a nation’. Even though it’s a public holiday in Melbourne Credo is still going to be open. We basically don’t want the TAB to be the only place in town for people to go and hang out.
I’ve been thinking about what [...]

So last weekend I was down at Phillip Island for TEAR Australia’s Victoria Gathering. This year’s theme was ‘All Things in Common’. I was involved in running the ‘Hospitality and Inclusion’ workshop stream, and I was also setting up some installation art in the main auditorium and the ‘Praying in Hope’ space.
When we went down [...]

Last night Tim and I visited Wipeout, which is a youth group at St Hilary’s in Kew, for year 7 to 9.
Tim talked a bit with the kids about homelessness.
Later on we had some time for everyone to interact with a number of stations we’d set up around the space.
Station 1: Home

At Urban Seed staff retreat, at Aireys Inlet. Been having discussions about vision and salary structures. We’ve been concerned that our staff retreat often ends up being a big long talkfest, so this afternoon we got Gregg to do some ABL (action-based learning) with us, involving ropes and blindfolds and mousetraps and such.

Mission Exposure finished on Friday. I spent the weekend recovering and spending time with Mehrin. (We didn’t get to spend much time alone during Mission Exposure.)
On Friday we went out to visit Tim and Jay and Tuscan and Kate (from Loam, the Seeds mob in Preston). They talked to us a bit about what was [...]

Early this morning Sarah Scott-Webb (from our Youth & Schools team) led us through an examen for debrief/prayers.
Afterwards Andreana took the Mission Exposure punters up to visit St Mary’s House of Welcome in Fitzroy. I stayed back to cook lunch in Credo. (Chicken soup and vegetable soup.)
At Credo gathering Spriggsy inited us to think about [...]
